Many members of the Danner Farms’ family spent a great outdoor afternoon in July hiking the Blue Mountains near Toll Gate to locate and view the site of a B-17 World War II crash site.
Early on a chilly October evening, we gathered for popcorn, sodas, candy, and warm fellowship as we watched the first movie in the marvelous Narnia series. The outdoor theater with huge screen made movie viewing lots of fun.

Though we all enjoy the group activities and outings, the time here at Danner Farms that is nearest and dearest to our hearts is the quiet, one-one-one time that is spent between mentors and boys. With a warm fire crackling in the wood stove in the Shop, time spent over a checker or chess board, sharing each others’ lives, helps build trust and strengthen the bonds of friendship.
Carving out pumpkins for Halloween and memories that will last a lifetime.
As we move into 2021, we are excited to see what the Lord has planned for us. On the immediate horizon are plans to continue the refurbishment of the historic 150-year-old Nichols’ Barn. Over the last several years, we’ve completed two phases and are now looking at the third phase. When finished, there will be a large indoor area that can be used for gatherings, kids’ activities, even some basketball hoops. We’ve already had several work days where the mentors and boys have helped launch this latest project by removing old siding, clearing out the barn and storage area, and salvaging much of the barn wood that we hope to re-use. It will be a big undertaking, but we know that nothing is too big for our boys, mentors, qualified contractor, and the Lord to handle.
What a year. None of us knows what the future holds. What we can hold onto, however, is the knowledge that God is in heaven and He is in control. Isaiah 41:10 tells us: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
